Y is for yarn

I went and organized my yarn last night because I realized that my knitting projects were getting away all over the apartment. I felt bad for my husband because I literally have yarn and knitting projects everywhere! So, I organized and have come to realize I have a good amount of yarn.

I have grown especially fond of 100%cotton yarn. It is super comfortable and super lightweight and yet sturdy. I just love it!

I have one box that is just for my Epic Blanket of Insanity. It has all 100% cotton yarn and some merino wool yarn. I am going all organic with this blanket and loving every minute of it! I have found some amazing colors. You can see this pictured in my previous post. There will be more colors added to it too! Haha. I am honestly having so much fun with this blanket.

I also have another box that has more yarn that is for another project that is a secret for now. 😉  I will have pictures later and possible hints. However, it is not all organic yarn. It is predominantly acrylic. This project does not need to be all organic to serve its purposes. In order to get this project and my Epic Blanket done, I will have my hands busy knitting alot over the next several months. But the long ride to Denver will prove to be a great time to get some massive amounts of knitting done! It is coming so soon!!!! Yay!!!

Well, I am off to keep knitting.

Yes, I am aware I skipped x but I had no idea what to write. Haha!

See ya!

W is for Why I Blog

Ok, I know that this post is several days late but my weekend was super crazy! What with working, homework, internship, meetings, and more homework it was just a whirl of a weekend. But here is the post nonetheless.

So, I have had several friends ask me recently, why do I blog?

I gave them the typical vague answer of its fun. While that is definitely part of my answer, I think there is more to it than that. I blog for a lot of reasons.
One of them is that I love learning something new and sharing what I am learning with other people. I seriously love learning new knitting techniques, new climbing moves or techniques, new recipes, new places to visit, a better way to start a business, etc. I just love finding out how other people do things. So, not only am I learning but I love to share my findings with other people. I am not someone who can just keep something that I just figured out to myself. I am constantly telling my husband about a new recipe or a new technique I learned in knitting (poor TJ).

Another reason why I blog kind of goes along with the first one, it gives me an opportunity to find people with similar interests and who are much better at doing some things than I am. I can go and read their blogs and find out more about how they do certain things and learn from them. It provides me with such a wide variety of outlets to learn from that I love it!

I also love the community that comes with blogging. Fifteen to twenty years ago there was no blogging. We did not have this outlet to see how other people live their lives all around the world. We did not have this way of communicating with people we had never met in person. There are people that I have met through blogging that I would not have had any other chance of meeting. You really get to know all kinds of different people who lead different lives than you and that is just wonderful to me! I love meeting new people and hearing their stories and taking part in their lives and this is just one way that I can do that.

I also love to blog because it gives me a creative outlet to where I can share what I’m learning with who I am meeting, and I can also talk about current projects and life in general. It helps me get out some of my talking so that I do not keep my husband up too late talking about what I’m learning. Although, some days I start reading other peoples blogs and finding out more and more cool stuff and then those nights I feel bad because I do not shut up to my husband.

Blogging is just fun! It is a great outlet and a great way to meet new people and a great way to build a business. I would recommend blogging to just about everyone!

See ya!

P.S. Here is my progress on my Epic Blanket of Insanity

Its comin along!

S is for Style, My Style to be Exact

Today I thought I would show some of the items that typically show up in my everyday wardrobe. I am super easy going but with a little bit of quirkiness and that definitely comes out in what I wear.

This tends to be my normal everyday wear. A V-neck, a hoodie, hair pulled back into a messy bun, and little to no make-up unless I am going out somewhere.

Always paired with some kind of jeans, today it is my ripped ones, and some sandals.

I also love love love scarves! Those are layers of scarves, there is more there than meets the eye.

I also love converse! I have been wearing them since I was 13. Obviously not this pair, but I have been wear converse shoes for almost 9 years now.

And, I love my red lipstick! If it went with everything I wore everyday, I would probably wear it everyday, but alas, it does not on some days.

Well there is a glimpse into the makings of my style. It is kind of mismatched but I like it. I also love dresses, anything that flows really nicely, and tank tops. Some days I love dressing up, other days I do not want to get our of my pajamas. Just ask TJ, he can tell you how he doesn’t know what to expect me to wear form day to day.

Yesterday, I forgot to put up a picture of my bag being put to good use with my rock climbing stuff in it so here it is:

I am also following another blog on here called whendidibecomeaknitter. You can check out her blog here. She is making this blanket called the Epic Blanket of Insanity. I found the pattern she is working form and decided to start my own. I am having so much fun learning this new way of making a blanket. Here is the beginnings of my insanity.

It is little squares or diamonds or however you want to look at it and you piece them together to make this rather large blanket. You can check out the pattern here.

Hope you enjoyed my style and what is going on in my project land right now!

See ya!

Wandlust Wednesday: Peru

I absolutely love Peru! If there was one South American country I could live in, it would definitely be Peru. So, I could not pick just one place in Peru where I would like to live. I have not been to too many places in Peru. I have been to Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu. We went two years in a row. I wish I could’ve gone more. My goal is to definitely visit there again. TJ has never been and I would love to show him the culture.

This was one of my favorite meals in Peru. It consisted of french fries, the corn on the cob, Inca Kola, and Cow heart. Yes, legitimately cow heart. It was absolutely delicious!

This is Machu Picchu. Absolutely stunning! The view, the history, the air, the llamas. It is all just amazing! I thought I had more pictures from site seeing in Peru but this is all I could find. Enjoy!

If you want to see more pictures you should check out this blog. This is a lovely lady who has her own company in Belgium where she sells knits. She is opening a brand of knits using alpaca yarn. She is providing an opportunity for girls who got pregnant way too young an environment with good working conditions as well as decent pay to provide for themselves. She is awesome! Go check out her blog as well as her pictures from her Peru visits!

See ya!
