I am a girl who usually changes her hair pretty regularly. Although, lately I have been feeling a little uninspired. I haven’t changed or even cut my hair in over a year! How crazy is that?! I really do need to go get it cut. I just can’t quite decide what I really want to do! As you can see by my inspirations, they are kind of all over the board! If you want to see more hairstyles that I just absolutely love or want to try, check out my Hairstyles Pinterest Board.

November 17(belated): What I Love About Winter

Winter is honestly one of my favorite seasons! Growing up as a California girl, I never thought I would say that. I am still a beach bum at heart but I love winter! I really really do! There are so many things to love!

~ Snow! How can you not like snow?! I mean if you don’t ski or like to be outside I can see why you don’t like snow. I am not one of those people. I love to ski and play outside with my huskies in the snow! I love hiking in the snow. (Not ice) It is so beautiful and light and fluffy! It makes everything look so magical! I cannot get enough of it. I was ready for snow in July. I am such a weirdo.

~ The smells. Wintertime brings with it all the Christmas smells. Cinnamon, pine, frosting, firewood, wool, snow. All of them are such great smells! Wintertime is baking season in our house. TJ bakes more bread and more cookies. I bake pastries and occasionally another dessert. I tend to leave the baking to him! 😛 The smells are just so comforting!

~ Christmas! I am obsessed with Christmas! I love it a lot. I have been desperately trying to behave and not put out Christmas decorations too early or listen to Christmas music too early. It has been so hard! I love them so much! I love putting up a Christmas tree! The songs, the movies, the presents. I love giving gifts! Remembering the real reason for the season! Its all wonderful!

This year I am aiming to not be so stressed out during the holiday season. I am still in retail and that will make it difficult but I am aiming to end the year as stress free as possible!

Enjoy this season! Don’t stress about it!

See ya!

November 16 (belated): Chocolate Is Essential

I love chocolate. I may have mentioned how much I like chocolate in the last post. My husband is also in the process of making chocolate chip cookies. He spoils me and is no good for my waistline. Lol! But honestly, chocolate is essential to life and happiness. I am not talking scientifically. I am talking emotionally at least for me.

Eat Chocolate:

~ It is sweet and delicious! Yummy yum yum! There is nothing quite like the flavor of chocolate.

~ It gives a little high after you eat it. A temporary mood booster! Gotta love chocolate!

~ It isn’t too sweet! Some of the regular movie candies or hard candies or soft candies can be way too sweet. Chocolate on the other hand is perfectly sweet without being overbearing. You can even put things in the chocolate to make it a little more savory as well.

~ Its comforting. Ok, well this may just be a me thing or even a woman thing but chocolate is so comforting in times of grief or sadness or pain. I don’t know what it is.

What is your favorite chocolate?

November 14 (belated): Why You Should Keep Lists

It is very hard for me to remember things. I get so scatter brained sometimes. Lists are wonderful! It helps keep me on track! It helps me focus on getting done what I need to get done and not lose focus or get sidetracked. I love them!

Why You Should Keep Lists

~ They help you stay focused! They give you something tangible to look at instead of a million different things pulling at you at any given time.

~ You get to mark them off! Growing up, my mom gave us chore charts to do. We got to mark them off with stickers when we were done with the chore. Maybe that is where this all started, I don’t know. All I know is I get a little thrill out of marking things off when I am done with them. I don’t use stickers any more. However, I do often times use highlights or sharpies. I love the bright colors! They are fun and more exciting that just marking them out with a plain black marker or pen.

~ It gets things out of your head. When I write things down, it is kind of a clearing of space in my brain. It isn’t bothering me any more. It isn’t constantly nagging. I may not have gotten it done yet but at least is on the list and it will get done. I won’t forget about it. I will mark it off. It is kind of a relief knowing that it isn’t sitting there waiting in my brain, knowing I will forget about it.

~They help you achieve your goals! Big goals have to be broken down into one step at a time. If you write down those little steps on your to-do list, you are that much closer to getting your big goal done! It is much less overwhelming and you can actually achieve what you were hoping to achieve.

I keep this notebook pretty handy all the time. It has my to-do list, most of the time my grocery list, my Christmas list, you name it it is probably in there. I love it! It really helps my brain not be so overwhelmed.

You should keep lists too! They are fun!

November 11 (belated): Reasons to Have Huskies

I love my two huskies more than anything (except maybe my husband ;P ). I don’t think everyone should have them. They are their own special breed. You have to have the right dynamic to have huskies. Anyway, that is for the next post. But here are the reasons they are awesome!

~ They are crazy! I know I know most people don’t think that is a great reason to have a dog. But I love their spastic crazy personalities. They have so much personality.
(btw not my photo but so stinking hilarious and true) My boys would definitely try something like this.

~They have amazingly beautiful eyes! Bright blue or even mismatched colors!
This is my little man, his eyes are so bright and blue, I love it!

~They sleep in the most hilarious positions!
These are just a few of the positions I have caught both of them in.

~They are pack dogs. This means they are extremely loyal. Not only to each other but to their owners as well. It is a great trait that I wouldn’t trade for the world. That doesn’t mean they have to be by your side at all times because they are still insanely independent.

I love having huskies! I don’t think I would want any other breed. They are wonderful!

November 10 (belated): Reasons Why Winter In Denver Is Great

Denver is known for its snow. Whenever someone thinks of a terrible winter, they often think of Denver or Minnesota or Alaska. Winter in Denver is not all that bad. See, where it sticks around on the East Coast because the sun rarely comes out in the winter time, Denver has over 300 days of sunshine. 300 days of sunshine means sure we might get a pretty decent amount of snow, but it doesn’t stick around too too long. The sun comes out and melts it. Its lovely.

Anyway, here is why Denver is awesome in the winter!

~ It snows! ( I love snow, we just got our first snow of the season!)
~ It melts quickly! (Even better, not too much ice!)
~ It snows again! (Yay snow!)
~ It melts again!
~ The mountains keep their snow, so amazing skiing! (Skiing is my favorite activity!)

I would say those are pretty great reasons for winter in Denver! The mountains are beautifully snowcapped while Denver’s snow is melting and making driving easier. You should come visit at least once. Doesn’t matter the season, they are all wonderful here in Beautiful Colorado!

November 9: Things I AM Looking Forward To

Alrighty, so I can’t stay negative for too long. It is just not possible for me. Lol! So, since I shared what I am not looking forward to about the holidays, I must share what I am looking forward to about the holidays! Which not going to lie, it is hard to really narrow it down when I love just about everything about the holidays!!!

~ I love the smells! The Christmas tree smells, the cinnamon smells, the baking smells, the smell you get right before it snows, the smell of bonfires or fireplace fires. I love them! So much!

~ The lights! I love Christmas lights! Most of the time I try to figure out how I can keep them around year round! They are so twinkly and amazing!

~ The Christmas tree! TJ has tried to persuade me to get a fake tree since we got married. No sir! I love the smells of the Christmas tree! I love picking it out! I love decorating it! I love taking it down! I can’t help it!

~ Christmas music! I have behaved this year and haven’t really listened to any yet. This alone is impressive! I can’t wait for Christmas music to start playing! It is so wonderful and so magical.

This whole season is so magical! You will see a stupid grin plastered on my face the whole month of December. Lol!

Do you love or loath Christmas? What is your favorite or least favorite part?

See ya!

November 8: Things I Am Not Looking Forward To

November is usually a month where people are saying what they are thankful for. I am thankful for so much, don’t get me wrong. But the holidays also bring things that I am just not looking forward to. Especially working in retail… You know what I’m saying?

Here we go…

~ Christmas shoppers who are grumpy because they have been out all day with family and it has not been a pleasant experience. Spread some joy and love! Also, don’t do all of your Christmas shopping on one day! Spread it out!

~ The long hours working retail during the holidays. Oh man, it is exhausting. I am a girl who absolutely loves Christmas. I am seriously a young child every year around this time. Everything fascinates me, the colors, the lights, the smells, I love it! Working retail can really take that out of you.

~ Driving in the snow. I will admit, I have gotten better but I am still not great. It still scares the living daylights out of me. When you start sliding… oh man there goes my blood pressure just thinking about it.

~ Denver drivers in the snow. With the amount of transplants that Denver has, not everyone has come from a state where they had to drive in the snow. They just do not know how to do so half the time. Scares me and drives me crazy!

~ Not being close to family for the holidays. I am such a sap. I love having family close by for the holidays. I love waking up to the smell of waffles, cinnamon gravy and bacon. (And coffee of course) I love coming into the living room and sharing presents with everyone. It always makes me so sad to not be close to family. It is just so dang hard to get time of for Christmas or Thanksgiving when you work retail.

See ya!

November 6: Ways to Romance Me (and Probably Most Other Women)

I love to be romanced. What woman doesn’t?! And to be fair, what man doesn’t want to feel pursued?! We all have a desire to be loved and wanted and romanced! It makes us feel special. It makes us feel like someone out there cares about us about most others! Gives me butterflies just thinking about it. I am such a sap and such a romantic at heart. I love a good cheesy romantic movie. I love old Disney movies that have cheesy romance in them. I love big bang music! To me that is always romantic. I cannot get enough of “The Way You Look Tonight.” Especially when Adam Levine from Maroon 5 sings it. I could listen to him sing that song all the time! Anyway, I love to be romanced!
Some of my favorite ways are:

~ Chocolate: Bring me some chocolate, whether it is in a box or in a paper bag or just a candy bar from the grocery store! I’ll take it and I love it!

~ Flowers: Roses are some of my favorites. Sunflowers are wonderful! But I’m really not picky. I love to receive flowers!

~ Surprises: If I am not expecting it, that makes it that much better!

~ Spontaneous dates: whether it is out to dinner or a movie or a road trip, if you put in the effort to take me out somewhere or make me dinner at home or what have you, oh man, so happy!

~Planned dates: I want to know that you are putting forth that effort. That I am on your mind enough to be pursued intentionally.

This next one might be a little strange to some of you…

~ An at home pedicure: I love to be pampered, I’m not gonna lie. TJ never really does this but that’s ok. Working in retail my feet get so sore. Getting my feet rubbed and lotioned and then even maybe my nails painted. I am in heaven!

Ladies, or gentlemen, what are ways you like to be pursued or romanced? What are ways I can romance my husband?

See ya!

November 5: My Favorite Shoes

I have 3 pairs of shoes that I wear consistently throughout the year. I wear a couple other pairs of shoes besides these but these ones are always a staple in my year round wardrobe. They are comfy, cute, and functional.

1~ Birkenstocks

This is my summer pair! Love them so much!

And my winter pair! Love these ones even more than my summer ones!

2~ Chacos

Not my pair, but I couldn’t’ find a picture of the ones I own so here are these! They are super awesome! I did a backpacking trip in mine, and I still love them. Although, I don’t recommend doing that trip in those next time but we are still close friends lol.

3~ Sanuks

These are honestly my lazy shoes. Kind of like slippers but acceptable to wear out of the house. I love wearing these. So comfy and these ones are just so cute!

Do you have a pair or three of shoes that you wear all the time?

See ya!
